Obituary of Lois Kay Boos

Lois Kay Boos, March 4, 1927- November 4, 2018

Lois passed peacefully after having a comfortable stay at Mirabel Lodge in Forestville. She and her husband; George Boos had four children; Patty Boos, Danny Boos, Shirley Hughes and Jack Boos along with four grandchildren; Karen Lyons, Sandy Work, Michael Hughes and Ashley Boos. Four great grandchildren; Matthew, Issac and Hannah Lyons and Abby Work.

Lois and George raised their children in San Leandro. They both retired early to become part of the fishing community in Bodega Bay. They build their home in 1988 and have lived in Bodega Bay ever since. While George was on his boat, Lois was very busy with the BB Grange activities; Fish Feast, Boat Parade, Chippino Feed, and Fishermen’s Wives Association. She also was very active politically. Protesting anything that endangered the coastline or the fishing community and promoting anything that helped. She was an active member of “Vote Smart” and League of Woman Voters. Her greatest achievement was converting her staunch Republican husband to a Democrat (although, it did take over 40 years). She traveled the world. Visiting China three times, Russia twice and many, many other places. She loved her community here in Bodega Bay.

May she rest in peace knowing her life was well lived.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday January 6th, 2019 from 1-4pm at the Bodega Bay Grange hall, 1370 Bodega Ave, Bodega Bay, CA. Fresh crab will be provided, but feel free to bring a side dish to share.
